SLAPOA is the administrative arm of SLA (Silver Lakes Acres) and is responsible for the collection of annual maintenance fees and disbursements.
SLAPOA has a volunteer Board of Directors to manage revenue and disbursements. Since we operate entirely with volunteers, help is needed with maintenance on clubhouse, marina, beach area, waterways, and general operations.
An Annual Meeting is held each year (per the By-Laws) at 7:30 pm the first Tuesday of December at the Community Center. Board of Director meetings are held periodically and are posted on the bulletin board in front of the clubhouse and our website. All members in good standing are welcome at the meetings.
As a Property Owners Association (POA) the covenants are attached to the land and along with the By-Laws can be accessed on the link provided. All documents are filed with Marion County, FL and an Annual Report is filed with the State of Florida Corporations. While we operate with volunteers, the fees and covenants are mandatory. Fees are $100.00 per lot per year. They are due January 1st and delinquent March 31st. Invoices are mailed or emailed in December.
Activities at the community center include a once-a-month breakfast and potluck, weekly cards/games, and other activities that are announced on the bulletin board located in front of the community center on SE 169th Terrace Rd.

Volunteers:
There is usually a project going on and we can always use help. The Association is operated entirely by volunteers including the Board of Directors.
Our community is only as strong as the participation of its residents. We encourage you to get involved and continue to build SLA into the community we are proud to live within.
Clubhouse:
· Join us for coffee at 9:00 am on the 1st Saturday of the month and potluck at 2:00 pm on the 3rd Sunday of the month (unless it conflicts with a holiday). These events are posted throughout the community, on the bulletin board and in the calendar on the website.
· The clubhouse is available at no charge for games/cards or get-togethers when the event is open to all community members. The clubhouse is locked, so give us a call at the Association number to schedule.
· The clubhouse is available to rent for private events by members of SLA in good standing. Please contact Jerry Fisher at the Association phone for more information and fees.

Marina slips are available for a fee of $25.00 per month. Currently all slips are rented. All motorized boats being launched must have a valid registration and boat liability insurance.
